HELPFUL TIPS ON HOW TO START YOUR HSAH EXPERIENCE.

1. Find a school.

Hover over School Directory at the top of this page and click on the link where the school you are searching for fits alphabetically. ACADEMY OF HOLY ANGELS>DULUTH-EAST is where you will find all Minnesota high schools that start with the letters A-D. ECHO>LYLE is where you will find all Minnesota high schools that start with the letters E-L. MABEL-CANTON>PROVIDENCE ACADEMY is where you will find all Minnesota high schools that start with the letters M-P. RANDOLPH>ZUMBROTA-MAZEPPA is where you will find all Minnesota high schools that start with the letters R-Z.

      A. Once you are on the correct SCHOOL DIRECTORY page scroll down (listed alphabetically) and find the name and logo of the school you seek. If you click on the logo you will be directed to the school's Athletics landing page. If you click on the name of the school below the logo you will be directed to the school's Activities (non-athletics) landing page. Every school's website is set up differently and HSAH was designed to expedite the process of finding what you are looking for but with some schools the closest link that is available to users is the Athletics or Activities button at the top of the school's website. Be sure to try hovering over Athletics or Activities if you are directed to the school's homepage.

      B. HSAH did not design or is not involved with any of the school's websites. When you click on a logo or name of the school you are going directly to the school's website. HSAH is not responsible for any content or content management for any school's website.

2. Find a Sport or Activity.

If you are looking for a sport, locate the season at the top of this page and hover over it and all of the sports that take place during that season will show up. If you are looking for an activity that is not a sport, determine whether the activity best fits in the category of an Academic or Arts/Journalism activity and hover over  the category at the top of this page. Click on your desired sport/activity and you will be directed to that activity landing page. Once you are on the activity landing page, you will find these things on each page.

      A.  Activity Image. This the image at the top of each activity page. HSAH would like users to share images with us via Twitter, Facebook or email and at the end of the activity's season users will vote on each activity's "Photo of the Year."

      B. Message Boards. On every Activity Image there is a button that says "Message Board" directly below the activity name. If you click the button you will be directed to the message board for that specific activity. Users can add and discuss various topics regarding the activity on the message board. Users will be able to vote for contests on the message boards.

      C. Links. Just below the Activity Image there are various links. For MSHSL Sanctioned Activities you will find links for each Class (A,AA,AAA...). If you are looking for a specific team click on the class the team participates in and you will go to that class' page. Teams that participate in that class are identified within its respective section. If the activity is not sanctioned by the MSHSHL there may be a Teams link that will take you to a page where you can find your team.

(1.) Class/Teams. When you click on the correct Class/Teams link you will see teams listed in alphabetical order in the section in which they compete. If you click on the team's logo you will be directed to the team's/group's website. This website may be a high school website or a website that is controlled by the activity's booster club and not by HSAH.

(2.) Rankings. HSAH  will attempt to add a link for Rankings for each activity. The inclusion of a Rankings link depends on how the ranking group presents its rankings on its website.

(3.) All-State. HSAH will also attempt to add an All-State link that will identify the members of the All-State Team for the most recently completed season.

(4.) History. You may also find a year or "History" link that will take you to previous years for the activity. HSAH would like to add links for other information for each sport. Please feel free to use the message board to give ideas for information you would like to see added for any or all activities.

      D. Photos of Champions. On each landing page HSAH wants to recognize the state champions (teams and individuals) for the respective sport. If you have photos or know someone who may have a photo of the one of the state champions who's photo is missing please help HSAH get a photo. If you are a state champion or parent of a state champion that wants HSAH to change a photo or remove a photo for any reason HSAH will do so.

      E. Resources. Below the champions' photos are icons for various resources that will help HSAH users find more about the activity. These resources include the respective activity's association, coaches association, webzines, where you can watch webcasts of state championships as well as others.

*If you would like to see an activity added to HSAH please go to the About Us dropdown at the top of this page and click on Add Activity.

3. Find Media Outlets.

Hover over the top of this page and click on the link of the geographical area that interests you. HSAH has created this section to help users find local news, media and webcasts. If you have any information for media outlets that is currently not included for any area please share the name of the media outlet and a webpage via email or Facebook.
